International Symposium on Sensors and Instrumentation in IoT Era
August 29-30, 2019, Lisbon, Portugal
The organizing committee of the 2nd International Symposium on Sensors and Instrumentation in Internet of Things Era (ISSI) have the privilege and honor to invite you to join us at this meeting that will take place in August 29-30, 2019, in Lisbon, Portugal.
The need for realization of this event was identified by different experts on Sensors and Instrumentation taking into account the diversity and advances in MEMS and NEMS manufacturing, RF sensors, optical sensors as well as signal processing, networks communications or artificial intelligence that may facilitate the developments and implementation of effective, efficient, sustainable, and often at lower cost Internet of Things (IoT).
The first edition was held in 2018, in Shanghai, China. The participants had a memorable, pleasant and rich on knowledge experience at this meeting.
It is nowadays very clear that Sensors and Instrumentation are important factors for successful implementation and adoption of Internet of Things, in many areas of industry, agriculture, transportation, science or healthcare. The header image, part of the image of a painting made by a Portuguese painter – Maria Helena Viera de Silva was chosen for representing a need for a place for a better view and understanding of the diversity and distribution of Sensors and Instrumentation that may be applied for IoT development and implementation. In chaotic representations of things as like in the Vieira de Silva painting, some appearance of simplicity and organization can be identified in some spaces, but connectivity and representation of accurate and relevant information about things, for different persons and in different contexts, seems to be a hard and challenging work both in the image of painting and in the real world of Sensors and Instrumentation. The event provides conditions for constructive dialogues on concepts, development, effectiveness evaluation and implementation of IoT systems that innovatively combine Sensors and Instrumentation to increase efficiency and quality of different processes. The symposium incentives the constructive dialogue on WHAT pieces represented in the painting that might be associated with things in physical world could and should be connected, WHY things should be connected, HOW and FOR WHOM the things could and should be connected, WHAT, HOW, FOR WHOM and WHY the information from the things would be represented to make SENSE for many persons in diverse contexts. We are working hard to organize an outstanding scientific and educational event that will facilitate the spread and exchange of knowledge and skills between experts on Sensors, Instrumentation and IoT, developers of smart systems and IoT, academic scientists, researchers, and research scholars.
We will do our best for having the active participation of the prestigious international professionals with expertise and scientific recognition.
The scientific and social program will be carefully planned. You will feel warmly received in Lisbon, Portugal.
We look forward to meeting you in Lisbon, 2019.
