    Energy harvesting for WSN and IoT: Recent advances and applications in smart cities Energy efficiency in wireless sensor network (WSN) and Internet of Things (IoT) has been gaining increasing attention due to the limited battery powered devices. Notably, despite recent technological advances, batteries are expected to be consumed hastily for many applications. This problem is particularly severe when devices are deployed in hostile environments, where the replacement of batteries are prohibitively expensive and impractical.
